Clinical Services | Learning Disabilities Support | Dr. Cheryl Chase

In addition to her speaking and consulting services, Dr. Chase maintains a clinical practice in Independence, Ohio (a suburb of Cleveland). Dr. Chase serves children, adolescents, and adults in her clinical practice. Dr. Chase is PSYPACT certified, and is able to serve clients from other participating states. If you live outside of Ohio, and wish to pursue services with Dr. Chase, this may be possible if you are in a PSYPACT participating state (https://psypact.org/mpage/psypactmap). Unfortunately, at this time, Dr. Chase is unable to provide direct clinical services to those living outside of the United States.

Do you take insurance?

It is Dr. Chase's policy to conduct psychotherapy and psychological testing on a fee-for-service basis. In other words, she does not bill health insurance companies directly for these services. This does not preclude you from taking advantage of any health insurance coverage you may have when seeking services, though, since claims may be filed with the insurance companies directly by you. She will help with this process by providing you with the appropriate paperwork that insurance companies generally require. Be aware that many health insurance companies do not reimburse for testing done for what they consider to be “educational” purposes.

How much does a psychological evaluation cost?

Since services are individualized to the needs of each patient, she does not have a standard, flat fee for evaluations. In general, partial evaluations range from $250 to $1000, while full evaluations generally range from $2000 to $4000.

How long does a psychological assessment take?

Typically, a full assessment takes between six to eight weeks to complete from start to finish. During that time, the individual being tested usually spends one full-day, or two half-days, engaged in testing with Dr. Chase. This may take longer if participants work slowly or arrive late to sessions. If an individual needs an expedited evaluation or report, this may or may not be possible depending on her schedule, and additional rush charges will be applied.

What are the payment options?

In cases of full assessment, she asks for a deposit at the first testing session, with the balance due, including any fees for a written report, at the feedback session. For other services, fees are expected to be paid on the day of the appointment. If these policies present a significant hardship, individuals can talk with her to discuss alternate fees or payment arrangements.
